tool.box.description
The tool Mewrk uses to hand the model background results and its own notices in the middle of a conversation, offered only when Conversation settings → Advanced tools → Host message container is box tool result.
The model never needs to call it: Mewrk writes the call itself and the message arrives as its result, so each delivery is a row of its own on the timeline. It delivers:
- results of background tasks the model did not collect with task_wait;
- context a hook added, and skills you selected after the conversation started;
- language-server problems, and changes to files the model had read;
- a request to go on after a reply hit the model's output limit;
- on models without the Mid-conversation system prompts capability, plan-mode guidance, the auto-compact handoff request and System prompt cards placed lower down the timeline. Other models get these as system messages.
Good to know
- A box row is a message from Mewrk, never from you. Editing its text on the timeline changes what the model sees from then on.
- The model calling
boxitself does nothing. - On a model with Asynchronous tool calls, a subagent's or workflow's result does not come in box: it is the output of the call that started it.
- The other container is a user message; Messages from Mewrk weighs the two.
